LSU, Wisconsin Announce Ticket Allotments For '16 Football Opener At Lambeau Field

LSU fans "will be allotted 20,000 tickets" for the school's '16 football opener against Wisconsin at Lambeau Field, according to Jim Kleinpeter of the New Orleans TIMES-PICAYUNE. Wisconsin "will get 40,000 tickets," while the Packers organization "will get the remaining" tickets. The game is "being billed as the Lambeau Field College Classic and will be the first major college game played at the 59-year-old stadium." Wisconsin is "considering setting up a theater near the stadium where overflow fans who don't get tickets can watch the game" (NOLA.com, 2/15). UW said that it has 17,400 donor and football season-ticket holder accounts. UW AD Barry Alvarez added he wants to "try to get as many of our season ticket holders an opportunity to buy a ticket as possible." The UW Athletic Board policy states that approximately 7,500 student tickets will be available (WISCONSIN STATE JOURNAL, 2/14).
