Super Bowl viewers have a high awareness of who the game's top advertisers have been over the past decade, according to a survey conducted by Civic Science on behalf of THE DAILY. Anheuser-Busch has indeed been the biggest ad spender over the years, while Nike, Gatorade and Apple have not had an in-game spot in many years. Pittsburgh-based Civic Science operates real-time, in-market reader surveys for more than 350 news outlets, content, and social networks nationwide. The group's online poll of 8,461 respondents was conducted from Jan. 7-13. Respondents were able to choose up to five answers. Meanwhile, in a separate web poll, respondents were asked about favorite Super Bowl ads. Coca-Cola's spot featuring Pro Football HOFer Joe Greene from Super Bowl XIV in '80 drew the top response, with 34% of respondents claiming it was the most-memorable spot from the Big Game. The poll on most-memorable Super Bowl spots drew 2,991 responses from Jan. 7-13. Reported percentages do not sum to 100% due to rounding.
