NFL Streamlining Levi's Stadium's Mobile Platform For Super Bowl 50

Levi’s Stadium’s robust mobile platform has been streamlined a bit for Super Bowl 50. The NFL, in conjunction with VenueNext, the facility's tech vendor, and stadium concessionaire Centerplate, has developed a special Super Bowl 50 mobile app for fans to order food, drink and merchandise from their smartphones and tablets. The Super Bowl 50 app contains most of the same features as the regular Levi's Stadium app. Fans will be able to order food, drinks and merchandise for express pick-up at any time during the game, said VenueNext VP/Marketing Louise Callagy. Those customers get priority status at concession stands. For in-seat delivery, the options are restricted to drinks only, a decision made by the NFL. Food is part of mobile delivery for 49ers games. NFL Senior VP & Chief Information Officer Michelle McKenna-Doyle said, "We tweaked it a little bit. The Super Bowl is not like your standard game. If you look at the layout [which includes broadcast towers filling two corner plazas], we couldn't do what we normally do. We were worried about having to keep up with demand ... and we need to keep the aisles clear, which is important to the security team." She added the league wants to "showcase the technology" without glitches. On the retail side, suite patrons can order merchandise for delivery to those premium spaces. In addition to mobile delivery, fans can view replays and game highlights through the Super Bowl 50 mobile app and find the shortest lines for restrooms, concession stands and gate entrances. The Super Bowl 50 app can be downloaded as fans approach the stadium on game day. NFL Mobile subscribers will get a push notification to use the app after turning on their location-based services feature.
