Stars Lead NHL Western Conference Attendance Gains, While Sharks Down 4%

NHL Western Conference teams are seeing a small uptick in attendance this season, with only a few clubs seeing modest declines. The Stars lead all Western Conference clubs with a 7% increase in average attendance at home. The Avalanche are seeing a 3% increase at Pepsi Center, while the Jets are up 2% at MTS Centre. On the flip side, the Sharks are seeing a 4% drop at home, which is the sharpest drop among Western Conference clubs. The Ducks are down 3% and the Canucks are down 2%. The Coyotes are the only club in the conference filling less than 90% of total capacity. Listed below are attendance figures for NHL Western Conference teams through Jan. 18. TNT’s Stan Van Gundy, ESPN’s Tim Reed, NBA Playoffs and NFL Draft

On this week’s pod, SBJ’s Austin Karp has two Big Get interviews. The first is with TNT’s Stan Van Gundy as he breaks down the NBA Playoffs from the booth. Later in the show, we hear from ESPN’s VP of Programming and Acquisitions Tim Reed as the NFL Draft gets set to kick off on Thursday night in Motown.
