Overnight Ratings: Spieth's Win In Maui Delivers Big Numbers For Golf Channel, NBC

Golf Channel and NBC over the weekend carried the PGA Tour Hyundai Tournament of Champions, which saw Jordan Spieth win the event in Maui by eight strokes. Golf Channel drew a 0.7 overnight for the final round yesterday, marking the net’s best figure ever for the event and best on any net since ESPN in ’06. The 0.7 overnight is 52% higher than any of Golf Channel’s previous final rounds for the Maui event. Coverage peaked at a 0.9 overnight from 9:03-10:00pm ET up against the Golden Globes. Meanwhile, NBC’s coverage of the event from 4:00-6:00pm on Saturday marked the best overnight for any round of the event over the last decade. Golf Channel also posted record overnights for the net on Thursday and Friday.
