Cam Newton, Bryce Harper Star In New Gatorade "Recover Time" Ad Campaign

Gatorade this morning launched a new marketing campaign via TBWA/Chiat/Day, L.A., to promote its recovery protein products with ads featuring Panthers QB Cam Newton, Pacers F Paul George and Nationals RF Bryce Harper. Newton's "Lucky Tank" spot shows Panthers TE Greg Olsen ignoring his teammate as he sits in an ice tub. In "Too Much Fashion," George has a brief conversation with teammate Joe Young before turning his attention to the media for a postgame press conference. Harper never even speaks during his "Need Ice" ad; he is seen taking ice cubes from a bag wrapped around his shoulder and adding them to a blender for a protein shake. The three "Recover Time" spots each end with the words "If it's not game time, it's recover time" flashed on the screen, followed by a voiceover saying, "Gatorade Recover, protein and carbs for athletes, because the way you recover affects the way you play."
