Ticket To Ride: Jaguars Sign Deal With Uber For Car Services To Remaining Home Games

The Jaguars are teaming up with Uber to "provide rides to games at EverBank Field" and allow fans to "purchase tickets" for the team's games, according to Drew Dixon of the FLORIDA TIMES-UNION. The Jaguars said that they are the "first professional sports franchise to offer such a partnership with Uber." The team added that the mobile app for Uber in Jacksonville "will not only offer rides to the game, but it will offer ticket purchases and everything will be charged through Uber mobile services." The Uber app screen will "have a small paw print icon on the bottom of the screen, which is the option to buy tickets as well as get a ride." The service "will begin being offered Thursday" for the Jaguars' "TNF" matchup with the Titans and will be available for the remaining three home games on the team's regular-season schedule (FLORIDA TIMES-UNION, 11/17). BLOOMBERG NEWS' Eben Novy-Williams noted the move could "drive additional sales" for the franchise, which "hasn’t had a winning season" since '07. Tickets for the Jaguars, who "play in one of the smaller markets in the NFL, have the lowest resale price -- and the smallest resale volume -- in the league" (BLOOMBERG NEWS, 11/16).
