Sun Life Stadium Canopy On Schedule For '16, But Suite Renovations Pushed Back

Dolphins fans looking forward to "beefed-up suites next season are going to have to put those expectations on hold for a year," according to Hal Habib of the PALM BEACH POST. The Dolphins have determined that fitting a canopy over Sun Life Stadium "will engulf nearly all of their efforts" this offseason as they continue $425M in renovations. The canopy and pressbox elevators, plus new videoboards, "will be completed" in time for the '16 season, but because of safety concerns renovations in the suites "won’t happen" until '17. The Dolphins "originally hoped to have all the work done in time for next season." Habib noted if that "sounds like an inconvenience to fans, consider this: The safety concerns are such that the Dolphins are moving all their staffing personnel who normally work at Sun Life out of the stadium." They instead will "have to work in trailers at a site to be determined" (PALMBEACHPOST.com, 11/15).
