North Carolina could be playing to clinch the ACC's Coastal Division Saturday when it hosts Miami, but "unless ticket sales improve," one of the school's "most significant home games in years will not be sold out," according to Andrew Carter of the Raleigh NEWS & OBSERVER. There are "thousands of tickets remaining" for UNC's final home game of the season. UNC Assistant AD/Ticket Operations Tim Sabo said that as of yesterday afternoon, "approximately 4,500 tickets remained." UNC AD Bubba Cunningham yesterday "wrote an open letter" published in the Daily Tar Heel student newspaper thanking fans for turning out last Saturday against Duke, but "asking for fan support" for this weekend. Cunningham wrote, "We're asking you to bring an even greater level of energy. ... The game has important implications on both the national and ACC races. Let's join together, show the team you've 'got their back' and send the seniors out in style" (Raleigh NEWS & OBSERVER, 11/11). INSIDE CAROLINA's Brett Thompson noted the Duke game was the "first sold-out crowd" of '15 at Kenan Stadium. Coach Larry Fedora last night during his weekly radio show said, "We’d love to have it like that every game, and there’s no reason why it can’t be” (SCOUT.com, 11/10).
