MLB Stars To Appear In Stand Up 2 Cancer PSA Debuting During World Series Game 3

Cancer research advocacy group Stand Up 2 Cancer is initiating a new PSA campaign in collaboration with current partner and founding donor MLB. The new campaign entitled “Potential,” debuting tomorrow during Game 3 of the World Series, will feature several of the game’s young stars, including Cubs 1B Anthony Rizzo, Nationals RF Bryce Harper, Angels CF Mike Trout, Mariners P Felix Hernandez, Blue Jays P David Price and Pirates CF Andrew McCutchen. A series of spots juxtaposes childhood clips of the MLB stars with those of current youth fighting various forms of cancer. “Kids’ aspirations to make it to the Major Leagues are such an enduring part of the tradition of baseball, and with this PSA, these dreams take on a renewed significance,” said Stand Up 2 Cancer co-Founder Rusty Robertson. MLB and the 30 clubs have donated nearly $40M to the organization since first aligning seven years ago. Scott Vincent of Hungry Man Productions directed the spots in collaboration with MLB Productions and Stand Up 2 Cancer.
