NBA League Pass Lets Fans Purchase A Single Game Package Via Twitter And Facebook

NBA League Pass just got an upgrade—instead of buying the whole season’s worth of games, now you have the option to buy a single game through a social media post.

NBA League Pass is a service that lets fans live-stream games that are not locally or nationally televised. Now for the first time, NBA League Pass will provide fans with one-step access to live games via Facebook and Twitter “watch” links.

These watch links will be highlighted in posts and will launch with the newly redesigned NBA App. The links will either take you straight to the game on the internet (i.e. when you are using a computer) or to the NBA App, which provides mobile streaming.

The single-game purchase option, called NBA Single Game, costs $6.99 and is available to fans three days prior to whichever game they buy.  The other new service, which lets you follow one team throughout the season, is called NBA Team Pass, and it costs $119.99.  In addition, the NBA will still offer the original League Pass package for $199.99.

League Pass lets you stream the games on many devices other than computers, including tablets, phones, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Apple TV, and Samsung Smart TV.  The new Single Game and Team Pass services will stream on the same devices.

Fans can try out the new services during the free preview period, which starts on Tuesday, October 27 (opening night), and ends November 3.

These new streaming options are definitely an improvement over having just one purchasing option.  Now, fans who weren’t willing to buy the entire package can simply follow their favorite team, while the less-invested can even watch single games.  Bottom line, the more options for consumers the better.
