The NFL on Sunday will play its second of three games in London this year with Bills-Jaguars at Wembley Stadium, and the league is considering two new options for next year: one team "playing 2 games there" and games "in back-to-back-to-back weeks," according to NFL Network's Albert Breer. If one team did agree to play two U.K. games next year, they would "be consecutive" weeks, but the club "likely won't give up 2 home games." The team "could play one or both games" as the away team. An idea that has been floated is to have London "share a franchise" with a U.S. market, and one team playing two games in the U.K. is "halfway there" (TWITTER.com, 10/21). PRO FOOTBALL TALK's Darin Gantt noted the NFL has "made clear one of the biggest hurdles to putting a team in England remains the logistical concerns," and moving "three games' worth of teams across the pond would provide a strenuous test of those issues, at least from a league perspective" (PROFOOTBALLTALK.com, 10/21).
LOOK KIDS, THERE'S BIG BEN: In Buffalo, Jane Kwiatkowski Radlich reports Bills Owners Terry and Kim Pegula chartered a Boeing 747 that left for London yesterday "carrying a contingent of suite-holders and sponsors on an all-expenses paid weekend that includes afternoon tea, a Tower of London reception and three nights at a five-star hotel." They will attend Sunday's game with club-level seats. Bills President Russ Brandon, who was scheduled to attend today's tea party with Kim Pegula, said that the trip "was the team's way of saying thank you to sponsors -- and staff." Radlich noted members of the Bills' administrative office team "also are making the 747 trip." The return flight to Buffalo "leaves immediately after the game" (BUFFALO NEWS, 10/22).
