Steph Curry, Jamie Foxx Again Team Up in Spot Promoting Newest UA Signature Sneaker

Under Armour's latest ad "kicks off" the '15-16 NBA season by celebrating Warriors G Stephen Curry and his "cosmic impact on the game of basketball," according to Tim Nudd of ADWEEK. Actor Jamie Foxx was used in the spot to "voice poetic copy about how thoroughly Curry's lightning-fast shot has changed the game." Foxx "appears onscreen briefly, too." When Curry shoots a three-pointer, he "releases the ball in as little as 0.4 seconds," which "is illustrated with exploding fireworks in the darkly evocative visuals" (ADWEEK.com, 10/20). In Baltimore, Jeff Barker notes the pair "teamed earlier this year on a campy spot (for the Curry One) in which Foxx quoted Shakespeare and referred to Curry as the 'patron saint of the underdog' and the 'baby-faced assassin.'" UA "launched the Curry One -- plus his apparel collection" -- in February '15. The Curry Two is "already available in Asia, where Curry toured with the company." Saturday "is the global launch" (BALTIMORESUN.com, 10/20).
