Branded Air: Southwest's Title Role Leads "NFL Today" Sponsored Segments

The Daily this week will present a list of each of the sponsored segments shown on the Sunday NFL pregame shows on Oct. 18. The programming examined includes Fox’ and CBS’ hour-long shows, ESPN’s two-hour show, and NBC’s 1:20 show preceding “SNF.” Eight companies sponsored multiple segments across the telecasts led by FanDuel with four and Microsoft Surface with three. DraftKings, Domino's, Ford, Kia, McDonald's, and Subway each had two. Each day, THE DAILY will list the sponsored segments for one of the networks.

LONG-DISTANCE FLIGHT: CBS’ “The NFL Today” features Southwest Airlines as its title sponsor. The company has been a sponsor of the show since ‘98. The show featured segments sponsored by Subway and Domino’s, as well as “Who Are You Lovin’? Presented by McDonald’s,” a segment that is also featured on ESPN and NBC. Subway and Domino’s each appeared on another show as well but with different segment titles. “Huddle Up presented by FanDuel” accounted for one of the daily fantasy site’s three segments among the pregame shows. Other segment sponsors were State Farm, FedEx, and The Home Depot, none of which appeared on another show. FedEx and McDonald’s have been official sponsors of the NFL since ‘00 and ‘12, respectively.
