Ringing Endorsement: IOC Names Mark Parkman GM Of Olympic Channel Services

The IOC has named another top producer to its new Olympic Channel, promoting Olympic Broadcasting Services Operations Exec MARK PARKMAN to Olympic Channel Services GM, based in Madrid. He will report directly to OBS CEO YIANNIS EXARCHOS. Prior to OBS, Parkman was Int'l Sport Broadcasting VP. That firm serves as a contractor to the IOC, providing on-site TV production to broadcast rightsholders. During his stint with Turner Sports, Parkman won an Emmy for his work at the '02 Salt Lake City Games. The IOC also named two senior deputies to Parkman. Eurosport GM of Italian Operations FEDERICO DE MONJANA will become Head of Programming and European Broadcasting Union Senior Presales Manager JORGE DE LA NUEZ becomes Head of Technical Operations. de Mojana will lead the channel’s content development and de la Nuez will oversee the technical buildout and operations. Separately, the IOC promoted VP/Broadcast Rights VINCENT CHUPIN to lead the commercial development of the Olympic Channel. Prior to the IOC, he spent 14 years at Eurosport. The IOC has said the digital Olympic Channel will be launched in '16.
