Buyers & Sellers: DeAndre Jordan Buys $12.7M L.A. Home Near Blake Griffin

Clippers C DEANDRE JORDAN paid $12.7M "in cash for a newly built home" in the Pacific Palisades area of L.A. The Cape Cod-inspired three-story home, which is "within walking distance" of a home owned by Clippers F BLAKE GRIFFIN, "has 10,500 square feet of living space." Accessed through a "gated garden complete with a cascading waterfall, the home opens to a chandelier-topped grand foyer with a floating-style staircase." A lower entertainment level includes a "home theater with a 130-inch screen, stadium seating and floor-to-ceiling suede panels" (LATIMES.com, 10/6).

FRESH DIGS: Former MLBer KERRY WOOD has paid $4.2M for a "newly built six-bedroom, 11,000-square-foot mansion in Winnetka [Ill.] from a homebuilder." The French Revival-style house "has eight full and one half baths, five fireplaces, an open floor plan, millwork, coffered ceilings, a paneled library, a sport court with 18-foot ceilings, a golf room, a media room, a wine cellar, a kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances and an attached three-car garage" (CHICAGOTRIBUNE.com, 10/6)....Nationals P JONATHAN PAPELBON paid $2.9M for a "five-bedroom home in Belle Haven," just south of Old Town Alexandria, Va. (BIZJOURNALS.com, 10/5)....Dolphins LB SPENCER PAYSINGER "has bought a home in the Vie Park-Windsor Hills area" of L.A. for $895,000 (LATIMES.com, 10/6).

MOVING TRUCKS ARE HERE: Former NFLer ASANTE SAMUEL "has sold his South Florida mansion" -- with its $1M swimming pool -- for $7.5M. The "resort-like 140,000-gallon pool features waterfalls, a geyser and a beach-style entry." Flat-screen TVs, a hot tub, a fire pit, tropical landscaping and a pavilion "complete the party setting" of the 18,000-square-foot Mediterranean-style home (LATIMES.com, 10/2)....St. John's Univ. men's basketball coach CHRIS MULLIN "has sold his home in Danville, Calif.," for $2.59M. Built in '95 and since updated, the 5,500-square-foot Mediterranean-style home in a gated community "backs an open space reserve with wide views of the surrounding hillside" (LATIMES.com, 10/6).
