Too Late To Apologize: LSU Pulls Plug On OneRepublic Halftime Performance

OneRepublic, the pop group "slated to join LSU's marching band during halftime" of the Oct. 17 football game against Florida, "won't be there as scheduled," according to Chelsea Brasted of the New Orleans TIMES-PICAYUNE. College Live CEO Don Green, whose company was responsible for producing the halftime performance, said, "We just could not raise enough capital to be able to put the show on." He did not say whether Aloe Blacc's halftime appearance during LSU's Nov. 14 matchup against Arkansas "is still planned to go on as scheduled." But LSU in a statement said Blacc's show "is still scheduled to take place." The statement said the school "is considering another halftime show for a future game in Tiger Stadium." Brasted notes the performances "were scheduled as the result of a partnership between College Live and LSU, an arrangement in the making for at least a year." Green said that the goal "was to have national sponsors foot the bill" (New Orleans TIMES-PICAYUNE, 10/7).
