Buyers & Sellers: Former Bears Likely To Take Hits On Chicago-Area Property Sales

Former NFLer LANCE BRIGGS has "listed a two-bedroom condominium" in the Northbrook area on Chicago's North Shore for $239,000. He is "bracing for a loss" after buying it for $371,500 in '06 (CHICAGOTRIBUNE.com, 9/30)....Free agent NFLer ROBERTO GARZA has "listed his four-bedroom, 4,270-square-foot house" in Libertyville, Ill., for $749,000. He is "expected to take a loss" on the home after buying it for $865,000 in '06 (CHICAGOTRIBUNE.com, 9/30).

SLAM DUNKS: Basketball HOFer JAMES WORTHY has "put a home in Bel-Air on market" for $2.195M. Worthy bought the home in "guard-gated Bel-Air Crest" in '97 for $945,000. The 3,900-square-foot home was built in '90 and has "cathedral-style ceilings, wood and tile floors and fireplaces in the living and family rooms" (LATIMES.com, 9/25)....Former NBAer JORDAN FARMAR has "sold his resort-style house" in Tarzana, Calif., for $2.8M. The '04 Spanish-style home has a "hookah lounge, two wine cellars, a secret hallway that opens to a bedroom and a custom wall aquarium." The grounds of "more than half an acre center on a saltwater wave pool with a beach entry, a grotto-style spa and a waterfall feature." The 6,000-square-foot main house has five bedrooms, seven bathrooms and seven fireplaces. There also is "parking for 20 vehicles" (LATIMES.com, 10/1).

HOME SHOPPING NETWORK: Snowboarder SHAUN WHITE "has sold his home in Hollywood Hills West" for $2.3M. He "bought the property six years ago" for $1.7M and had been "leasing it out." The 2,036-square-foot remodeled home has "statement chandeliers and walls of glass." Decks "bring in skyline views." There also is a "built-in barbecue and a swimming pool with a spa" (LATIMES.com, 9/28)....Cowboys CB ORLANDO SCANDRICK has listed his 5,100-square-foot home in Woodland Hills, Texas, for $2.149M. The home, built in '65, sits on "nearly half an acre" and has an "open-plan living room, a chandelier-topped dining room, a center-island kitchen, five bedrooms and four bathrooms." At the "rear of the walled and gated property, a pathway extends down the hillside to a small courtyard with a river-rock pond and waterfall" (LATIMES.com, 9/29).
