Demand High For Membership Into Lions' New $2M MGM Grand Tunnel Club

The Lions "were pleased with the regular-season debut" of their $2M MGM Grand Tunnel Club on Sunday night, according to Bill Shea of CRAIN'S DETROIT BUSINESS. Decorated as a "jazzy Las Vegas-style VIP lounge in team colors, the club sold out" of its memberships before the season began. Lions execs said that other premium-level clients "are now interested in the Tunnel Club." The entire MGM Grand club "has a capacity of about 130 people," and there is already a waiting list for next season that is "20 names long."  The team said that Club 200 members -- another premium space -- "get first crack at available memberships." In the future, the Lions "may offer long-term memberships," but currently, the $19,000 price "is for a single season." Lions players "enter and exit their locker room along one glassed wall of the club" and use stairs along another side. There is "open club space along the concrete ramp down to the field, where members can interact with players." The Lions bring alumni "to mingle with fans inside the club" (CRAINSDETROIT.com, 9/28).
