Franchise Notes

In Jacksonville, Alexa Epitropoulos noted the Jaguars on Sunday "launched Jaguars Arcade, a site that seeks to interact with fans through games, polls and contests." The site is "part of the team's #MOREJAX campaign, which aims to boost social engagement." The first game to be featured on the site is Duval Dash, which was "built in 8-bit and is believed to be the first team-inspired video game in existence." The team's leadership "aims to release two games per year on the site" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 9/23).

CITY & STATE: In Detroit, Vince Ellis notes the Pistons yesterday announced "marketing promotions" for this season. Mondays will "celebrate Michigan," while Tuesdays "will be devoted to" servicemen and servicewomen. The team will "wear the popular Motor City jerseys on Sundays, and games will promote the Detroit metropolitan area" (DETROIT FREE PRESS, 9/24).

YOU GOTTA PAY THE TROLL TOLL: In Chicago, Rex Huppke suggested the Bears "should immediately hire Ragnar," the former Vikings mascot who was let go by the team amid contract demands. He wrote, "I don't know about you guys, but I don't want to live in a country where a viking can't get paid $20,000 for riding a large motorcycle onto a football field and yelling at drunk people." After Huppke let the team know about his idea, Bears VP/Communications Scott Hagel downplayed the chances, saying, "Bears and Vikings don't get along" (CHICAGOTRIBUNE.com, 9/23).
