PGA Tour Phoenix Open Adding Luxury Deck Suites On 17th To Replicate Rowdy 16th

Organizers of the PGA Tour Waste Management Phoenix Open are "putting in new luxury suites and boxes at the par-4 17th hole" at TPC Scottsdale for the '16 event in an attempt to "replicate some of the successes of the 16th hole," according to Mike Sunnucks of the PHOENIX BUSINESS JOURNAL. The 17th "will have 250 boxes" for the next year’s tourney." Tournament Chair Dan Mahoney said that the event "will replace some corporate village tents at the 17th with a new luxury Bay Club with suites and boxes." Mahoney said that the 17th-hole suites "range in price between $55,000 and $110,000 and they’ve already sold out since being rolled out last month." Sunnucks noted there also will be "more seating put in" at the 17th for general admission fans. Mahoney said that they are also "increasing the number of boxes and other luxury seating at the par-3 16th hole" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 9/22).
