LaMarcus Aldridge Joins New Spurs Teammates In H-E-B Commercial Lineup

San Antonio-based grocer H-E-B has signed Spurs F LaMarcus Aldridge as a "new ambassador to help sell its products," according to W. Scott Bailey of the SAN ANTONIO BUSINESS JOURNAL. Aldridge, who will "appear in the company’s new television advertising campaigns," joins an H-E-B lineup that already includes a number of his new teammates -- F Kawhi Leonard, G Tony Parker, F Tim Duncan and G Manu Ginobili. H-E-B Group VP/Marketing & Advertising Cory Basso said, “He’s going to be an important part of the Spurs and an important part of our team too.” Basso added that H-E-B has been "unable so far to get its hands on any Aldridge jerseys for sale in its stores because of the incredible demand for the No. 12 tops" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 9/17). In San Antonio, Dan McCarney noted this year's TV spots will be "filmed during training camp and shown throughout the ensuing season." The popular spots "have become something of a cult phenomenon since they first began roughly a decade ago, drawing interest not only locally but around the NBA for their clever and unique humor" (MYSANANTONIO.com, 9/17).
