Funny or Die President & CEO DICK GLOVER "is leaving his post" to become Mandalay Sports CEO. The move "will signal his return to sports media." Prior to joining Funny or Die in '08, he "held executive roles at WWE, ESPN and, most recently, NASCAR." Glover, who has been on the Mandalay board for the last two years, "fills a hole left" by former CEO RICH BATTISTA (HOLLYWOODREPORTER.com, 9/15). Glover was NASCAR’s VP/Broadcasting & New Media, where "he collaborated with" JUDD APATOW, WILL FERRELL and ADAM MCKAY to produce the comedy “TALLADEGA NIGHTS.” At ESPN, he "oversaw all aspects of domestic programming and launched ESPN.com and ESPN The Magazine" (VARIETY.com, 9/15).

EXECS: The Nationals named KRISTINE SOCKWELL FRIEND VP/Brand Marketing. Formerly a marketing exec for Marriott Int'l, Friend will lead the club's brand management, advertising, creative and media activities, and report to Chief Revenue & Marketing Officer VALERIE CAMILLO (Eric Fisher, Staff Writer)....PGA Tour Honda Classic Tournament Dir ED MCENROE "left his post in mid-July for a job with the PGA Tour" to become the PGA's Champions Tour Senior Dir.  Honda Classic Dir of Operations ANDREW GEORGE "has been promoted" to Associate Tournament Dir (PALMBEACHPOST.com, 9/15)....The PGA of America named USGA Broadcast & Digital Media Managing Dir HENRY SMOKLER General Counsel (PGA of America)....UC-San Diego promoted Senior Associate AD and Senior Woman Administrator WENDY TAYLOR MAY to Deputy AD (UCSD)….The Univ. of South Dakota announced the following promotions: BRUCE FISCHBACH to Assistant AD/Sports Medicine, DREW DEGROOT to Dir of Compliance, JOE THUENTE to Assistant AD/Athletic Marketing & Promotions and BRYAN BOETTCHER to Assistant AD/Sports Information (USD).
