Weekend Plans With NFL VP Tracie Rodburg: Goodbyes, Hiking, Family Time

Like most football fans, NFL VP/Sponsorships & Partnership Management TRACIE RODBURG enjoys watching the action up close and personal. The only difference is that she watches it from a different NFL stadium each week, where her gameday responsibilities primarily revolve around hosting sponsors. “I can tell you where I am going to be for the next two months,” she said. “It will be at some stadium, somewhere in this country.” Rodburg spent Thursday night at Gillette Stadium for the league’s kickoff celebration honoring the Patriots for their victory in Super Bowl XLIX. Here, the N.Y. resident tells THE DAILY her plans for this upcoming weekend.

HARD TO SAY GOODBYE: I have to get on a plane and go back to work in N.Y. on Friday. This happens to be the only weekend I am in N.Y. for the foreseeable future. After the celebration of this week, I am hoping to crash on Friday night. I am going to try to at least make it until 9:00-10:00pm ET. Saturday is my last chance to be with friends and family before traveling every weekend. I will probably hang out in the neighborhood with my group of friends so that I can actually say goodbye before I go off into the season. I love exploring everything the city has to offer. I am a big fan of the rooftops downtown in the Meatpacking District, High Line Park, walking over the Brooklyn Bridge and just finding new neighborhoods with things to do. When I am in the city, I am still a tourist.

FOLLOW THE TRAIL: I do try to get out of the city on weekends. I enjoy going out to New Jersey and meeting up with old friends for some hiking at Bear Mountain. One weekend of each month this summer, I took a long hiking trip. I went hiking last weekend in Norwich, Conn; I did a glacier hike in Colorado in June; went to Vermont in July and Newport, R.I. in August. My guilty pleasure is yoga on the weekends. It is so long. It starts late morning and takes your whole afternoon. I can only do it when I am willing to give up half a day. I am also all about mysteries. HARLAN COBEN is my favorite author. He is from my hometown of Livingston, N.J. I love everything he writes. Any time he has a new book out, that is the next one I am reading. I like a lot of TV, but my obsession is still the original “LAW & ORDER.” It is on all the time now on random channels. I cannot catch up on new shows because I am still watching episodes from 20 years ago.

HOLIDAY SEASON: Sunday is Rosh Hashanah. Holidays usually fall during the season, but this time at least I can be with my family. My weekend schedule during the season is a little odd. You are never really off from work, especially with our games being on Sundays. A lot of the time, I am traveling on Saturday night and Sunday is a pure work day. I try to detach on Saturday the best I can, and then on Sunday night I check my calendar and mentally prepare for the upcoming week.
