Cedar Park Center, home to the AHL Texas Stars and NBA D-League Austin Spurs, has "signed a deal with a new food and beverage provider, Ryan Sanders Sports Services, that plans to remodel concession areas," according to Gary Dinges of the AUSTIN AMERICAN-STATESMAN. Ryan Sanders also is the "concessionaire at Dell Diamond," home of the Triple-A PCL Round Rock Express. The company replaces Aramark, which "previously handled food and drinks at Cedar Park Center." The changes are "expected to be in place by Oct. 10, when the Stars start their season." Ryan Sanders also will "oversee catering for Cedar Park Center’s suites and the MillerCoors Club." Ryan Sanders President George King said that the company "could have as many as 200 employees working at the venue" (AUSTIN AMERICAN-STATESMAN, 9/8). Cedar Park Center GM and AHL Stars President Rick McLaughlin said of the rationale behind choosing Ryan Sanders, "It was the quality of the food and the storefront concept they proposed, as well as being a company that’s located here, so we knew we’d always be top of mind with our account. We interviewed all the major concession companies in the country. Account services was important to us, since we knew if we needed an extra chef or had some other need they’d have it taken care of right away rather than having to get someone on a place from Dallas or Houston" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 9/8).
