Overnight Ratings: Little League Finale Down On ABC; Best Travers Stakes Since '04

ABC yesterday drew a 2.8 overnight for Japan’s win over Lewisberry, PA., in the Little League World Series World Championship, down from a 3.5 last year for South Korea’s win over the Jackie Robinson West team from the Chicago area.

WIN OR PLACE: NBC on Saturday drew a 1.3 overnight for American Pharoah’s second-place finish in the Travers Stakes, marking the horse race’s best figure since ’04 and up 104% from last year. The net drew a 1.4 overnight on Aug. 2 for the Triple Crown-winner’s run to victory at the Haskell Invitational.

The chart below lists overnight ratings for weekend sports telecasts on broadcast TV. Figure on Saturday and Sunday exclude both the Seattle-Tacoma and Memphis markets due to inclement weather.
