Buyers & Sellers: New Charger Franklin Purchases San Diego-Area Home

Chargers G ORLANDO FRANKLIN bought a 6,500-square-foot house "in the Old Winery Estates area of Poway, Calif.," for $1.895M (LATIMES.com, 8/17)....Former MLBer DAMION EASLEY last week sold his 15,000-square-foot baseball-themed Glendale, Ariz. mansion for $4.25M. A group called Sunny Days Family Trust "paid cash for the house" (AZCENTRAL.com, 8/19)....Former MLBer KERRY WOOD "cut the asking price" on his five-bedroom Beaux Arts-style mansion in the Lincoln Park section of Chicago by $345,000 to $3.25M. He "bought the house through a land trust" in '08 for $3.32M (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 8/19)....La Liga club Real Madrid MF CRISTIANO RONALDO paid $18.5M "for a 2,509-square-foot loft in the Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue" in N.Y. (N.Y. POST, 8/16)....Maple Leafs coach MIKE BABCOCK is "selling his sizable (4,486 square feet) and luxurious home" in Northville, Mich., for $799,999. It has six bathrooms and four bedrooms, "including a 'colossal' master suite" (DETROITNEWS.com, 8/17)....Newport Sports Museum Founder JOHN HAMILTON is "selling his 8,600-square-foot house overlooking China Cove" in Corona del Mar, Calif., for $22.99M. The five-story home features a "distinct, copper roof" and is "built into a cliff, hiding the front of the residence from the street" (OCREGISTER.com, 8/18).
