PGA Tour, ATP Events In North Carolina Triad Area Offer Combo Ticket Option

The PGA Tour Wyndham Championship in Greensboro and the ATP Winston-Salem Open, held the same week, have "come together so fans can easily purchase combo tickets to attend both," according to John Dell of the WINSTON-SALEM JOURNAL. Wyndham Championship Tournament Dir Mark Brazil said, "I have been talking about this for the last couple of years, and this year we just decided to pull the trigger." The PGA Tour event runs Aug. 20-23, with the tennis tourney beginning on the 23rd, and fans "have a chance to purchase a one-day combo ticket for $50 by going online and picking a day for the Wyndham and then choosing a session" for the ATP event. There also is a "$120 option for a three-day combo ticket purchase." Brazil: "We are both about promoting the regionalism that is so important. We just figured that this is a great way for fans to get a chance to come out to both tournaments, and they can do it in an easier way." Winston-Salem Open Tournament Dir Bill Oakes said, "It just makes sense that since we are back-to-back events with really a lot of the same demographic that we have found ways to work together." Dell noted another "aspect of the relationship ... is sponsorship." Wyndham Worldwide "helps sponsor the Open and Don Flow of Flow Motors helps with sponsorship of the Wyndham Championship." Brazil: "We both help each other, and I think that's what makes it a really unique relationship" (WINSTON-SALEM JOURNAL, 8/6).
