CONCACAF Gold Cup Sees 6% Attendance Increase From '13 Tournament

CONCACAF Gold Cup matches averaged 41,854 fans across 14 sites during the ’15 tournament, up 6.4% from the 39,348 average in ’13. The largest draw was the July 19 quarterfinal doubleheader at MetLife Stadium, with 74,187 fans watching Panama-Trinidad & Tobago and Mexico-Costa Rica. Sunday's Mexico-Jamaica final at Lincoln Financial Field drew 68,930 fans. The competition included a third-place match for the first time since ‘03, with Panama defeating the U.S. in penalty kicks. This was the first time since ‘03 that the U.S. failed to reach the Gold Cup final (THE DAILY).
