Nike on Tuesday gave CEO MARK PARKER a "stock award valued at almost 10 times his typical annual share grant, on the condition that he work for the sporting-goods company for the next five years." The company granted Parker "restricted stock with a target value" of $30M, which he will "receive if he’s employed through the award’s vesting period" (BLOOMBERG NEWS, 7/21). CNBC's PETE NAJARIAN said locking up Parker "is about performance compensation." He said, "When you look at the revenues, look at the earnings, everywhere and some of the innovative factors that they've put into Nike since he's been there going towards the different areas of technology, along with obviously maintaining what they've got" ("Fast Money Halftime Report," CNBC, 7/21).

CUP OF JOE: Duquesne Brewing Company Owner MARK DUDASH, whose company through a joint venture with the PATERNO family is making a Paterno Legacy Series lager honoring the late Penn State football coach, "has been stunned by the product's early success." The "expectation was to sell out an initial run of 500 barrels by late September, but through pre-sales along, over 2,800 barrels have already been sold without even venturing into Philadelphia or Pittsburgh." Dudash and JAY PATERNO are "realistic about the expectations, but still eyeing a run of success that lasts well beyond the fall" (PENNLIVE.com, 7/20)

RETURN TO THE RING? Former Golden Boy Promotions CEO RICHARD SCHAEFER, who resigned in June '14 after a falling out with President & co-Founder OSCAR DE LA HOYA, will "likely be back in the boxing business soon." A clause in his settlement that "kept him from promoting" expires in August, when many in the boxing business expect Schaefer "to return to the promotional business with his own company" (ESPN.com, 7/22).

FILM ROOM: Comedian AMY POEHLER is reteaming with actor IKE BARINHOLTZ "for an untitled basketball comedy just picked up" by Universal Studios. Poehler will "star and produce the comedy via her Paper Kite Productions banner." She will "play a once-promising basketball coach who is asked to lead an NBA team under the gaze of a relucatant organization and the pressure of being 'the first'" (HOLLYWOODREPORTER.com, 7/22)...."SHARKNADO 3: OH HELL NO!" premiered last night on SyFy with a cameo from Mavericks Owner MARK CUBAN. NASCAR drivers BRAD KESELOWSKI and JOEY LOGANO also made "their acting debuts" (AL.com, 7/22).

NAMES: Recent FEC filings show DONALD TRUMP purchased Trump National Doral golf club in '14 for $49.4M. The resort "generated the most revenue among his more than 150 listed income sources" (MIAMI HERALD, 7/23)....The Ralph Wilson Jr. Foundation yesterday announced that it plans to spend $1.2B "over 20 years, with a focus" on Southeast Michigan and Western New York.
