Jaguars Offer Emoji Keyboard, Other Initiatives As Part Of Marketing Campaign

The Jaguars have "entered the world of mobile device emojis with the creation of their own emoji keyboard," according to Dixon & Hanold of the FLORIDA TIMES-UNION. The Jaguars are the "first NFL team to launch a fully-functional emoji keyboard." QB Blake Bortles, LB Paul Posluszny, DT Sen’Derrick Marks, K Josh Scobee and RB Denard Robinson "signed off on some of the characters in their image." Fans can "download the emojis in the 'fanzone' section of the Jaguars mobile application" or they can download "just the keyboard." As part of the team’s #MOREJAX marketing and digital campaign, the club "detailed improvements to mobile application use and increased partnerships with social media such as Twitter." The enhancements are also designed "to increase the fan experience at EverBank Field during games." Jaguars officials "see the campaign as a 'second screen' experience" (FLORIDA TIMES-UNION, 7/23). ESPN.com's Michael DiRocco reported the Jaguars also announced a "social aggregator tool called the Wall of Duval as well as a Jaguars Twitter Mirror." The Jaguars used Georgia-based technology company Snaps "to develop the keyboard" (ESPN.com, 7/22).
