People & Personalities: Fox Sports Moves Charles Davis From College Football To NFL

SI.com's Richard Deitsch reported Fox Sports is moving analyst Charles Davis "from college football to the NFL." Davis is "being assigned to work with Thom Brennaman on what will be Fox’s No. 3 or No. 4 team." It will not be a new partnership, as the two "have worked together for about 35 to 40 games, including seven bowl games and two full seasons together with the Big Ten Network." Davis: "I had heard about Donovan McNabb’s unfortunate trouble and had wondered how and if things might be affected on the NFL side." Deitsch noted with Davis' move to the NFL, Fox "named Joel Klatt as its lead college football analyst." He will "work with Gus Johnson and reporter Molly McGrath on the network’s top college team." Klatt had previously "called Thursday and Friday college football games" on FS1 and last year "worked in studio for the network’s lead college football pregame, halftime and postgame shows." Meanwhile, Brady Quinn is "getting a full season of analyst assignments" for college football this year. He will "work with announcer Joe Davis and sideline reporter Kris Budden" (SI.com, 7/20).

DOG DAYS?
On Long Island, Neil Best reports Mike Francesa and Chris Russo are both open to getting "back together for more than just a brief on-air reunion." YES Network's Michael Kay yesterday asked Russo as part of the filming for an upcoming "CenterStage" episode whether he "ever would consider reuniting" with Francesa, his WFAN-AM partner "of 19 years." Russo answered, "Yeah, I would, definitely; I would consider it. ... Why not? I miss the camaraderie." Francesa later said of a possible reunion, "Yes, I would listen" (NEWSDAY, 7/21).
