MLB Attendance Up Slightly At The All-Star Break, Buoyed By Gains For Royals, Mariners

MLB teams are averaging 30,198 fans per game at the All-Star break, up slightly from the same period last year. Attendance has been buoyed by big gains for the Royals (+44%) and Mariners (+23%), who lead all clubs in gains at the gate. The Yankees lead all AL clubs at the gate, but attendance is down 6.5% to date. The Rays continue to have the lowest attendance in MLB at 14,731 fans per game, with attendance at Tropicana Field down 13%. Both the Rays and Indians are playing to 47.5% capacity at their respective ballparks. For NL figures, see tomorrow's issue (THE DAILY).
