Whitney Wagoner Replaces Swangard As Dir Of Oregon's Warsaw Sports Marketing Center

The Univ. of Oregon Warsaw Sports Marketing Center yesterday announced that WHITNEY WAGONER "has been named" Dir of the Lundquist College of Business, according to Allan Brettman of the Portland OREGONIAN. She has "spent more than 10 years teaching sports business at UO" and also spent seven years with the NFL in marketing. Wagoner on Aug. 1 will become the center's third leader and "first-ever female" in the top spot, replacing PAUL SWANGARD (Portland OREGONIAN, 7/14). SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL's Bill King reports Wagoner’s role "will differ significantly from that of her predecessor, thanks to a revamping of the department that will divide Swangard’s previous responsibilities between two full-time staff members." Her focus "will be external, building industry involvement and engagement, managing alumni relations and fundraising." Management of the MBA program will be handled by CRAIG LEON, who "previously served as outreach coordinator for the Warsaw Center." The school "will hire an undergraduate program manager to replace Wagoner." It also will "soon begin a search to add a professor of practice from the sports industry" (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 7/13 issue).
