South Carolina Talking To Under Armour About Long-Term Apparel Extension

Univ. of South Carolina AD Ray Tanner said that the school is "talking with Under Armour about extending their agreement after it runs out" in June '16, according to David Cloninger of the Columbia STATE. While nothing has been finalized, South Carolina has been talking "only with Under Armour about clothing its athletes.” Tanner said, “There hasn’t been any conversation with any other apparel companies. We’re in conversations right now with Under Armour going forward.” Cloninger noted South Carolina has been “fully under Under Armour’s umbrella” since ’11, which came after the football team “first agreed to come over” in ’07. The current deal has a "four-year extension that can be agreed to by both parties once it ends.” However, Tanner said that he is "seeking more than four years." Tanner: “I’m not as interested in the four years as I would be a long-term agreement” (Columbia STATE 7/11).
