Flyers Sign Multiyear Extension With Greater Media For Radio Rights On WPEN, WMMR

The Flyers have "signed a new multi-year radio deal to broadcast their games on both" WPEN-FM and WMMR-FM, according to Rob Tornoe of the PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER. The deal, which will "continue to include live game broadcasts sandwiched by pre- and post-game shows, will keep the Flyers with the Greater Media stations through at least next season in what is being described only as a 'multi-year' agreement." Play-by-play announcer Tim Saunders and color analyst Steve Coates "will continue to call games" (PHILLY.com, 7/6). In Philadelphia, Jeff Blumenthal notes this will be the "fourth season the Flyers will air on Greater Media stations, as the team severed its longstanding relationship" with CBS Radio and WPEN-FM's "rival sports talk station" WIP-FM after the '11-12 season. As part of the deal, all local Greater Media stations "will remain promotional partners with the Flyers" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 7/7).
