Villanova AD Nicastro Taking On New Role At School's Moorad Center For Sports Law

Villanova AD Vince Nicastro is "moving to a new position at the school after 15 years" in his current role," according to Mike Jensen of the PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER. Nicastro said that he will "stay on until" a new AD is named. He then will "become associate director of the Jeffrey S. Moorad Center for the Study of Sports Law" at the VU School of Law. Nicastro said that the decision to move out of his job "was entirely his choice." He added that he "had been approached a number of times by search firms when AD jobs were open," but "none had interested him." The school announced that in addition to "managing the day-to-day operation of the Sports Law Center, Nicastro will teach and lecture at the law school in areas related to sports business and law, and will 'serve as a spokesperson with particular expertise in the area of intercollegiate athletics'" (PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, 6/19).

DUKES OF HAZARD: In Pittsburgh, Craig Meyer notes Duquesne on Thursday revealed the "group of nine individuals who will make up the search committee tasked with finding" the school’s next AD. It will be led by school VP/Advancement John Plante. The committee will "look to replace Greg Amodio, who announced last week that he will become athletic director at Quinnipiac, effective July 20" (PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE, 6/19).
