The BOSTON GLOBE reports Under Armour Founder, Chair & CEO Kevin Plank gave Patriots QB and company endorser Tom Brady "his strong backing Wednesday during an appearance at the Boston College Chief Executives Club." Plank: "Brady is one of the best people I’ve ever met and has the highest integrity." Plank added of Deflategate, "There’s several more chapters to play out, so let’s let it play out and we’ll go from there. Tom has our undying support" (BOSTON GLOBE, 6/11).

FORE CHECK: IEG Senior VP/Content Strategy Jim Andrews said that the Blackhawks "generated nearly twice as much in sponsorship revenue" as the Lightning during the '14-15 season. In Chicago, Robert Channick notes Andrews "wouldn't disclose specific amounts but said the Blackhawks are among the top NHL franchises in sponsorship revenue, while the Lightning rank somewhere near the bottom." IEG data shows that overall, NHL sponsorship revenue increased by 9.2% to $447M for the league and its 30 teams" (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 6/11).

MAD ABOUT YOU: The USGA yesterday announced that it is launching a new campaign, titled "There's a Lot to Love About Golf," which features multiple TV spots and animated digital banners. The six TV spots and banners, created by DDB, N.Y., will air mostly in conjunction with the USGA's summer schedule of televised golf championships, starting with the U.S. Open on June 15. In addition to airing on 21st Century Fox networks like Fox, Fox Business, Fox.com and FoxSports.com, the spots will air on Golf Channel and TSN Canada (USGA).
