Twitter To Have NBA Finals Timeline As Part Of First Official Partnership With A Top League

NBA fans on Twitter tonight during Game 1 of the Finals "will be able to follow the action via a custom timeline unlike others they may have seen before," with the ability to "tweet hashflags, the graphics that have become a hit with World Cup followers," according to Sam Laird of MASHABLE. Twitter's NBA Finals timeline "represents the first official partnership between the social media company and a major sports league," and it is "raising the experience to another level." Twitter users on most iOS and Android apps "can access the NBA Finals timeline by searching #NBA or #NBAFinals on their mobile devices," which "will give users access to a screen" with three tabs. The "Tweets" tab "will feature a range of posts related to the Finals," while the "Commentary" tab "will limit what's shown to a Twitter-selected group of experts, media and analysts." The "Video" tab "will feature Vines and other clips from the Cavaliers, Warriors and NBA itself." The NBA Finals timeline -- "unlike others before it -- will also feature the live score of each game, eliminating the hassle of having to switch over to another app to find the score of the game if you aren't watching on TV" (MASHABLE.com, 6/3).
