Franchise Notes

In Phoenix, Joseph & McLellan note the Coyotes will "unveil new home and away jerseys" at an NHL Draft viewing party June 26 at Gila River Arena. The unveiling "will take place before the draft starts." This will be the team's "first major uniform change" since '03, when the Coyotes "introduced their current logo along with a Sedona red primary color." The primary Coyotes logo "will not change with these uniforms" (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 6/2).

RETURN OF PAC-MANIA: The ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION noted the Hawks yesterday "unveiled a new brand identity with the return of the Pac-Man logo as the team's primary insignia." The new secondary logo, featuring a "burning basketball with wings," pays "homage to the city's history." The team "expects to complete its full rebrand when it unveils new uniform designs" ahead of the NBA Draft on June 25 (AJC.com, 6/1).

QUARTERBACK SNEAK: In Buffalo, Vic Carucci notes Pro Football HOFer Jim Kelly yesterday held his annual celebrity golf tournament in the city, and Bills coach Rex Ryan was "responsible for the Bills' entire current team showing up." Ryan "stunned Kelly when he informed him of the plan to have all of the players there as both a show of support for Kelly’s charitable effort, which raises funds for the 'Kelly for Kids Foundation,' and a team bonding experience" (BUFFALO NEWS, 6/2).
