Blank Space: Kanaan Gets Taylor Swift Paint Scheme For This Weekend's Dual In Detroit

Verizon IndyCar Series driver Tony Kanaan's No. 10 Chevy this weekend during the Dual in Detroit will feature a paint scheme promoting singer Taylor Swift's "1989" tour "as part of a promotion with her label," Big Machine Records, according to the AP. Big Machine is the official entertainment provider for Chip Ganassi Racing, and Kanaan will drive the car in conjunction with Swift's "Saturday night performance in Detroit." Big Machine "used a Swift paint scheme on the No. 42 Sprint Cup car in NASCAR to promote another one of her albums." The label "is also using a Rascal Flatts scheme on the rear wing of rookie Sage Karam’s car this weekend" (AP, 5/28). In Indianapolis, David Lindquist notes Kanaan's car is "adorned with Swift's image." Big Machine was "founded by high-profile racing enthusiast Scott Borchetta." Big Machine artist Brantley Gilbert last year "placed his image" Karam's Indy 500 car (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 5/29).
