ESPN Sees Drop In Unique Visitors, But Still Easily Tops April ComScore Rankings

ESPN in April led monthly comScore sports rankings for multi-platform digital reach for the 14th consecutive month, reaching 75.5 million unique visitors. However, it fell 6% from its March total and has yet to return to its record-setting totals set during the most recent NFL season and last year’s FIFA World Cup. MLB was elevated significantly by the start of its ’15 season and posted a personal best total of 41.8 million uniques during the month. The rest of the category largely held form and the Yahoo Sports-NBC Sports digital alliance returned to its customary No. 2 position after falling to third in March behind Bleacher Report-Turner Sports Network. ESPN also maintained its typical category lead in consumption metrics with 75.2 minutes per user during the month, but saw that figure fall 25% from 97.9 minutes per user during March.
