Asics Launches New Global Spot Featuring French Tennis Player Gaël Monfils

Asics has launched a new global spot featuring tennis player Gaël Monfils that "aims to position Asics as a sports performance brand," according to Sara Spary of MARKETING magazine. The spot, which shows Monfils "fighting off hundreds of tennis balls being shot at him by masked gunmen, reimagines the sport in a video game-esque scene" as he "bats them away at lightning speed -- thanks to his new trainers." Titled "It’s a tough game. Go smash it," the ad will be "supported by print and digital" (MARKETINGMAGAZINE.co.uk, 5/7).
