In London, Tom Sheen noted Bundesliga club Bayern Munich has "signed a new 10-year extension" with adidas, reported to be worth about $1B (all figures U.S.). The extension "takes the agreement between the two clubs through" to '30, but "represents a figure well below" the $1.2B, 10-year deal EPL club Manchester United signed with adidas last July. The deal "is one of the biggest" in soccer (London INDEPENDENT, 4/29).

: In Detroit, John Gallagher reports Cavaliers Owner Dan Gilbert on Tuesday "led a celebratory coming out party" for Xenith, a manufacturer of football helmets, shoulder pads, and other gear "that is partially owned by Gilbert and his Rock Ventures network of companies." Gilbert recently "decided to move Xenith's production facilities to Detroit, where the company will employ up to 70 workers during peak spring and summer seasons to produce about 100,000 helmets a year." The company "controls about 10% of the market for helmets" (DETROIT FREE PRESS, 4/29).

HEATH BAR: Performance nutrition brand Glukos yesterday announced the signing of U.S. women's national team MF Tobin Heath to an endorsement deal that will make her the face of the brand in soccer (Glukos).
