Ugg, M&C Saatchi Give Sneak Peak Of New Tom Brady Spot Using Twitter's Periscope

Patriots QB Tom Brady "isn't on Twitter yet, but he was on Periscope streaming live while shooting a commercial for Ugg Australia" on Thursday, according to Garett Sloane of ADWEEK. The agency behind the filming of the campaign, M&C Saatchi, "came up with the idea of using Twitter's new live streaming app, Periscope, to show Brady behind the scenes" playing chess. Brady sent a video through Ugg's account, and "dozens of people joined the live conversation." M&C Saatchi Dir of Social Media Kyle Maurer said, "He was really down for it. He might be on Twitter after this, because he seemed pretty into Periscope." The agency "cut to Brady live in Boston a couple times," but it also "cut out for a little so it wouldn't give away too much of the campaign, which won't launch until closer to the fall" (ADWEEK.com, 4/2). In Boston, Gayle Fee notes Brady shot the ad at the Harry Parker Boathouse "on the banks of the Charles River." From the sneak peek behind the scenes of the shoot, it "appears to be a scene where Brady is playing chess with a couple of old-timers." Brady also "informed fans that they did some kind of swimming scene and shot in a firehouse" (BOSTON HERALD, 4/3).
