NFL Giants Raise Regular-Season Ticket Costs, But Lower Prices For Preseason Games

The NFL Giants yesterday "raised regular season ticket prices for season ticket holders, but other adjustments will actually result in a reduction in pricing" from '14, according to Nick Powell of the Newark STAR-LEDGER. Giants President & CEO John Mara and Chair & Exec VP Steve Tisch sent a letter to season-ticket holders "detailing the first adjustments to pricing" since '10, MetLife Stadium's inaugural season. The Giants have "reduced the price of preseason tickets" by roughly 50% of the cost of a regular-season ticket. The cost of a non-club, regular-season game ticket "has increased by $10-$20, depending on location." The cost of a club regular-season game ticket "has increased by $15-$25, again depending on location." Because of the decrease in preseason ticket prices, the Giants said the "net result of the changes in pricing for most season ticket holders is an overall reduction from the previous season" (NJ.com, 3/17). On Long Island, Tom Rock notes parking "remains $30 per game and can only be purchased on a season basis" (NEWSDAY, 3/18).

IN THE DAWG HOUSE: In Cleveland, Rich Exner noted a number of Browns fans last week "voiced displeasure at the team" by saying in a survey that they would "not renew their season tickets" before last Friday's deadline. Two-thirds of the 826 people who participated as of noon Friday "stated they intend to not renew their season tickets," and many of them "had unkind words for their team" (CLEVELAND.com, 3/13).
