This Drink's On Me: Penske Celebrates 25 Years With Miller Lite Via Commemorative Logo

Team Penske on Thursday released a logo to commemorate the 25-year partnership between the NASCAR team and Miller Lite's sponsorship of the No. 2 Sprint Cup Ford. The logo will be displayed on the hood of driver Brad Keselowski's car at Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend and run on the TV panel of the car for each Miller Lite-sponsored race this season. Fans will have the opportunity to vote on three different iterations for the Miller Lite car, and the winning paint scheme will appear in the Sprint All-Star Race on May 16. The anniversary will also be marked throughout the season with two additional paint schemes. The car will feature the black and gold Miller Genuine Draft scheme for the August 16 race at Michigan Int'l Speedway and the red and white Miller High Life design that was featured in '80s for the return to Darlington Raceway on Labor Day weekend (Team Penske). Penske Corp. Exec VP Walt Czarnecki prior to the start of the season "commended Miller/Coors' commitment to not only racing, but to the Penske organization." He said, "Over these past 30 years and specifically 25 years on the racing side, I really think it's interesting to see that the Miller Brewing Company, now MillerCoors, has gone through management changes and ownership changes and one of the consistent, stable parts of their marketing program has been their relationship with Team Penske. That tells me that we've delivered, that we've provided the value to Miller and conversely they've done an awful lot for us, helping our drivers in the past elevate their profiles as well as elevating the profile of Team Penske. So it's a great partnership with many more years to come" (FOXSPORTS.com, 3/1).
