Rick Neuheisel Joins CBS Sports After Three Years With Pac-12 Networks

CBS Sports has added Pac-12 Networks' Rick Neuheisel as a college football analyst, and the former coach will appear on CBS' "College Football Today" pregame show and CBS Sports Network's "Inside College Football" weekly program beginning in September (CBS). In Portland, Mike Tokito noted Neuheisel has been the Pac-12 Nets' "most familiar college football commentator since its inception" in '12. He appeared on "multiple studio shows during the football season," and with his "constant network presence, Neuheisel became the leading commentary voice in the Pac-12" (OREGONLIVE.com, 3/3). In Phoenix, Doug Haller writes Neuheisel's departure is "a blow for the Pac-12 Networks." Neuheisel was "a draw for the conference network, bringing his football intelligence, humor and (every so often) musical talent to his role as a studio analyst" (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 3/4). In Houston, David Barron noted the cast of "College Football Today" last season consisted of Adam Zucker, Spencer Tillman and Bryan Jones. But Tillman said that his CBS contract "will expire before the beginning of the 2015 football season" and that he and CBS Sports Chair Sean McManus "came to a mutual agreement that he will not return this fall" (CHRON.com, 3/3).
