MLS Media Notes: Galaxy's New Deal Means A Minimum Of 20 Games On L.A. Radio

In L.A., Kevin Baxter reported the Galaxy have a "new radio partner," as KFWB-AM "will broadcast a minimum of 20 games this season, beginning with Friday's scheduled season-opener." The team said that Joe Tutino "will handle the play-by-play call for games not broadcast on Time Warner Cable SportsNet" for TV, and he "will alternate with Fred Roggin." Ralph Perez "will be the broadcast’s leading analyst." The station "will stream all 34 regular-season games on its mobile app," while ESPN Deportes -- KWKW-AM -- "will carry the team's games on Spanish-language radio" (LATIMES.com, 3/3).

ESTABLISHING THEIR ROOTS: The Dynamo on Monday announced a one-year deal with Root Sports Southwest as the team's official RSN. The net will air 22 Dynamo games in '15, with national TV partners carrying the team's remaining 12 regular-season matches. Root Sports will produce 30-minute pregame and postgame shows for all 22 matches. The Dynamo are the third major league franchise to partner with the RSN, joining the Astros and Rockets (Root Sports).

IN REAL TIME: In Salt Lake City, Scott Pierce reports Real Salt Lake's 26 games on KMYU-MYT this season will air live without tape delays and, "for the first time, there will be both a half-hour pregame and a half-hour postgame for each match." KUTV-CBS sportscaster David James "will again be doing the play-by-play for RSL." Bill Riley "will continue to be the radio voice of the team," but Sinclair Broadcasting, which owns both KMYU and KUTV, "wanted their guy doing the games for TV." Meanwhile, Brian Dunseth "will continue as the analyst alongside James." RSL for the first time "will not be producing the games itself;" the telecasts "will be handled by Sinclair's American Sports Network" (SALT LAKE TRIBUNE, 3/4).
