Sources: Rays Investor Randy Frankel Among Those Bidding For Hawks

Rays investor Randy Frankel and ComPsych Corp. Founder, Chair & CEO Richard Chaifetz are "among the bidders" for the Hawks, according to sources cited by Scott Soshnick of BLOOMBERG NEWS. Sources said that "some of the bids" were for about $900M. The sources noted that at least "seven first-round bids were presented" and more "might be accepted even though the deadline for submission was Tuesday afternoon." The sources said that Frankel's bid group includes BTIG co-Founder Steven Starker and Marquis Jet co-Founder Jesse Itzler. Frankel in '11 "applied to see" the Mets’ financial records when Fred Wilpon was "selling limited partnerships" in the team. Chaifetz' bid group includes former NBAers Grant Hill and Junior Bridgeman (BLOOMBERG NEWS, 2/26).
